Slide 1: Introduction

Foursquare is a location-based social networking service that works with multiple mobile devices through mobile browsing or with applications for iPhone and Androids.  It updates your friends where you are by using checkins to give users new info. on locations in their city and award points and badges as incentives.  Its purpose is to create, share, and communicate venues and brands in the area, by turning everyday ordinary life into a game/competition.  It was created to motivate people to discover interesting things around them and have the capability to share with friends in a simple, user-friendly manner.
