You can use Youtube too

I had never heard of Val's Art Diary before this assignment.  Being an artist myself, I am very interested in her promotional strategy.  Valentina Trevino videotapes herself actually creating a painting and, in addition to commentary about her process, she gives a more personal blogging commentary.  The two distinct sides of thevideo are made very apparent when she edits her video into a split screen; half focused on her in painting action, the other half being her own quirky, raw thoughts about the painting and much more.  Her versatility draws in viewers from the artistic side and the random blogger areas, widening her audience.

I think people respond positively to Valentina's artwork because her videos include everything and anything she is thinking; the good, the bad, funny, silly, strange.  Viewers are able to relate to her quirky personality and are more apt to pursue purchasing her pieces.

"The key to a successful viral video campaign is to make people laugh," says President Mary Mueller of Door Number 3 ad agency.  I think Valentina fits that category.  She provides an interesting look into her life while also showing her credibly artistic talents.

Other products that can benefit from online video sites would be any how-to videos, as USA Today's article describes, using examples of successful how to cook and how to keep up with home maintenance bloggers.  Products that rely mainly on their visual appeal may benefit from online videos the most.  One example would be video games.  If there is a new game out, the product can't be successfully sold through creators stating it has "great graphics and will provide hours of fun."  That's not enough.  Online videos give the video game an opportunity to show the graphics, the depth and details, and even reviews of the product.

It's been said since the beginning of time, "you gotta see it to believe it," and that's exactly what online videos have to offer all products and services creative enough to use them.
