Finding out the words and phrases that your customers use to talk about your product is and integral part of your overall marketing strategy. Knowing this helps you in a variety of ways, including: learning the associations they make between your brand and other phrases, and what words you should and shouldn’t use in your brochures, websites, advertisements, etc. when trying to speak to a particular target market.

Google Tools is an incredible resource for beginning or revamping a social media marketing campaign. I went through all of the topics in order. Starting with Google Insights. This is a great place to start if you are just starting up working on the web. For example, Insights for Search allows you to find out what customers are looking for when, where, and what your competition is doing. Next you can mess around with Keywords, which allows you test out what keywords you should use to optimize your site. More tools in Google Insights allow for looking at what your target audience visits on the web, your own websites traffic statistics, and be alerted about new products and sites related to your business.

It doesn't matter if you have a blog or business site or if you're a professional or novice, if you need a special tool to attract people to you, Google has what you need.

I was truly amazed at the amount of resources that are right at your fingertips. If you are just getting started with a business or are having a little difficulty attracting people to your site, Google AdPlanner is the perfect tool for you. After entering certain data about the target audience you are trying to reach, AdPlanner helps you locate them by finding websites they are likely to visit. From there, you could then use Google AdWords to get them to your site. You set up the ad using specific keywords. When people type in those keywords, your ad shows up. What I like about this tool is that you only pay a fee if someone clicks on that ad and lands on your site. Other advertising agencies charge you a fee each time your add shows up.

After clicking on the google link posted in the homework assignment, I came to discover some very, neat, useful and beneficial tools that marketers can and should take advantage of. The four main topics were "Insights", "Creative", "Media", and "Optimization". All of these sections offer a wide range of spectacular tools for users to take advantage of. The Creative section offers great creative tools such as Creative Gallery, and DoubleClick Rich Media Gallery which contains the web-based interface DoubleClick Studio. The media section offers tools where users can easily manage large quantities of keywords and it also offers all types of advertising tools, such as YouTube, Mobile, and Television Advertising.
